The Opportunity

As part of their continued investment in data and insight, they are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support the development and implementation of best-in-class data governance & data quality practices. Key Responsibilities
- Support the rollout and maintenance of the organisation’s data governance framework.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership, data quality rules, and stewardship responsibilities.
- Monitor and resolve data quality issues across systems, promoting consistency and integrity.
- Maintain metadata repositories, data dictionaries, and documentation of data flows.
- Contribute to data privacy and compliance initiatives, including GDPR.
- Support the delivery of data literacy programmes and promote good data practices across departments.
- Report on data governance KPIs and support continuous improvement efforts.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a data governance, data management, or data quality-focused role.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and data lifecycle management.
- Strong communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of GDPR or other data protection regulations.
- Proficiency in SQL and/or data analysis tools such as Power BI or Excel.
- Exposure to public sector data or working within regulated environments.
- Awareness of industry frameworks such as DAMA DMBOK.
What’s On Offer
- Salary between £35,000 – £40,000, depending on experience.
- Flexible hybrid working: only one day a week required onsite in Liverpool.
